The Hawks last six games

Hi there Hawks fans…..this is going to be somewhat brief cause I’ll be super busy this week and the only time I can write this is now.  Anyways, the Hawks are 22-18-3 overall.  They are 3rd in their division and rank 11th in the conference.  Hawks have 47 pts and there are 4 other teams with the same amount of points but they have a few less games played.  The Western Conference is a tight squeeze between the 4th to the 11th only being a few points off of each other.  In the last 6 games, they were 2-4-0.  They got 4 out of 12 points in those games.  They have only won the last game….hopefully they can keep up the momentum up and go on a winning streak.

Leaders for the Hawks

+/- Campbell +17   Sharp -9
FO% 59.6 Toews

B/S- 82 Hjalmarsson
Takeaways- 46 Toews
Giveaways- 48 Keith

In the last 6 games…

Power play as been at 23.5% with 4 goals in 17 chances with at least a man advantage.
Penalty kill has been 68.2% allowing 7 goals in 22 times of being short-handed.
Can’t really do a report card because the only thing the Hawks got going for them is their power play and goaltending.  My suggestion would be if you have one the worst PK in the league….you might want to stay out of the box.  Here’s an interesting stat about their PK…..39 short-handed goals were allowed all of last season….this season alone they are already at 33 goals and were only half-way thru the season.

Here are the scores and interesting stats for the last six games

Hawks vs. Blues (12/28/10)
Blues win 3-1
-43 shots on goal for the Blues vs. Hawks 26 SOG
-Dowell is the lone scorer and his 1st in 14 games
-Scott vs. Janssen…..Scott gets the win
-Marty Turco was the 3rd star of the game

Hawks vs. Sharks(12/30/10)
Sharks win 5-3
-the only + players were Hendry, Bickell, and Bolland with a +1
-Seabrook led the team with 6 hits for the game
-Keith led the team with 5 takeaways and 4 blocked shots

Hawks vs. Ducks (1/2/11)

-Bickell is the lone scorer for the Hawks with a +1
-Hawks out shot the Ducks 40-18 despite loosing the game
-Selanne (Ducks) did not convert on the penalty shot that he was rewarded
-Hawks were out hit 29-15

Hawks vs. Kings (1/3/11)
Hawks win 4-3
-Sharp with 2G, 1A and Toews 1G, 1A
-Smyth with 2 goals for the Kings
-Johnson was 70% at the dot

Hawks win 3-2 (SO)
-once again Hawks let the other team score late in the 3rd which it made it go into OT
-Sharp and Kane score for the Hawks in regulation while Johnny and Kaner scored in SO
-6 hits for Seabrook and Bickell
-Sharp 71% at the dot

Notes
-Hawks swept the series versus Kings it’s the 1st time since 81’-82’ season
-Sharp has 8 points versus the Kings this season
-4-8-1 tied after the 2nd period for the Hawks
-43 SOG that were allowed by the Hawks vs. Blues…highest allowed all season
-Niemi is 3-0 versus the Hawks so far this season
-Sharp with his 150th goal in the NHL vs. Sens (1/7/11)
-Your top D pair so far this season Keith -8, Seabrook -6
-Kane finally scored (1/7/11)….not since Nov. 30th

Overall, Hawks need a lot of improvement.  They struggle in every game.  My suggestion and I know it sounds crazy but maybe you might want to scratch one of your core players.  It might send a message that they might need to get their game together.  Here’s who works well together.  Skille-Dowell-Stalberg…Bolland-Brouwer-Bickell….Kane-Sharp…….Kopecky-Hossa

Here’s my suggestion
Kane-Toews-Sharp
Hossa-Johnson/Pisani-Brouwer
Bickell-Bolland-Kopecky
Skille-Dowell-Stalberg
         Or
Kane-Toews-Brouwer
Hossa-Sharp-Bickell
Pisani-Bolland/Johnson-Kopecky
Skille-Dowell-Stalberg

Who knows what in the world I’m talking about….all I do know is that all the players are healthy so lets start some lines that have some chemistry….even the D needs to switch up…..Yeah that’s right…..the top pair D ain’t working up to par.  Stay out of the penalty box cause your PK is killing you guys.  I will be missing tonight’s game so let me know if you see any improvement!!!  GO HAWKS!!!!
